We recommend watching the video above for step-by-step pressing instructions

Garments - Top Platen Heat Only

  1. Position Your Patch: Being that your patch will be pressed facing down, touching the bottom platen, you will first need to secure the patch to your garment with Thermal Tape (heat resistant tape) to ensure it stays in its desired location when being placed on your heat press.
  2. Load Garment Onto Heat Press face down: Now that your patch is taped in place, flip the garment over and place onto the heat press so the patch is facing downwards and touching the lower platen. This makes it easier to melt the low-melt glue on the back of the patch so that the patch will adhere to your garment. The goal is to melt the low-melt glue on the back of the patch, not the visible portion of the patch you’ll see when it’s adhered to the garment.
  3. Press: After laying the garment with patch face down, lay a teflon sheet or parchment paper over it to protect your garment from the iron, then press for 20 seconds at 360°F with 70-80 PSI or hard pressure. After done pressing, remove the garment from the press and allow it to cool for at least 30 seconds before removing the thermal tape. This allows the melted glue to solidify, thereby bonding it to your garment.
  4. For Thicker Fabrics (Hoodies, Jackets, etc.): If after following these instructions the patch isn’t adhering to your garment, it could be because the garment you’re using is made of thick material, such as a hoodie, jacket, etc. If this is the case, tape your patch to the garment and flip the garment inside out. Then, lay the garment onto the heat press so that the back of the patch is facing up. Lay a teflon sheet or parchment paper over the garment and press for 25 seconds at 325°F with 70-80 PSI or hard pressure.

Hotronix® 360 IQ™ Hat Press

  1. Position Your Patch: Since your hat will be facing upwards when it’s getting pressed, place your patch onto the desired area on your hat and secure it by taping it to the hat with Thermal Tape (heat resistant tape).
  2. Load Hat Onto Hotronix® 360 IQ™ Hat Press: Now that the patch is taped onto the hat, it’s time to load your hat onto the press. With the brim of your hat pointing upwards, fit the hat around the lower platen, as if the lower platen is actually wearing the hat. Lay a teflon sheet over the patch. This will protect the patch from any potential heat damage while pressing.
  3. Press: Set the top platen heat of your press to 285°F and the bottom platen heat to 320°F. You’ll then want to enter the pressure settings. The Hotronix® 360 IQ™ Hat Press allows you to manually input your desired pressure settings on a scale from 1-9 on the front screen. We’ve found that medium pressure (4-6) yields the best results. After entering the heat and pressure settings, set the timer on your press to 20 seconds. Then, lower the top platen to lock your hat into place and initiate the pressing process. Once the 20 seconds are up, lift the top platen and allow the hat to cool for 30 seconds before removing from the press. This allows the melted glue to solidify, thereby bonding it to your hat.

Peel & Stick - Garments, Hats, or Hard Surfaces

Note: We recommend only using Peel & Stick patches on hard surfaces (tool boxes, laptops, etc.). Peel & Stick patches can still be applied to a variety of fabrics, however, the adhesive coating on the back of the patch is not permanent and will come off while washing.

  1. Position Your Patch: Before placing your patch on the object, make sure the area you’d like to apply it to is thoroughly cleaned. We recommend using rubbing alcohol to clean/prepare the application area. Once cleaned, make sure to let the area dry before applying your patch.
  2. Apply The Patch To Your Object Of Choice: Peel the white paper backing from the back of your patch and press the patch firmly onto the surface of your object. Firmly press it for 10 seconds before lifting your hand off of the patch. For the best results, allow the patch at least 24 hours of cure time. This will strengthen the bond of the adhesive backing to your object, leading to longer lasting results.

Garments - Top & Bottom Platen Heat

  1. Position Your Patch: Make sure the area you want to place your patch is wrinkle-free. Then, place your patch on the garment and secure it with Thermal Tape (heat resistant tape). Since your patch will be pressed facing up, securing it with Thermal Tape is optional, but we recommend doing so to ensure the patch stays in place while pressing.
  2. Load Garment Onto Heat Press: Now that your patch is in place, lay your garment onto the bottom platen of your heat press with the patch facing up. Then, lay a piece of parchment paper or teflon sheet over the front of your garment, covering the front of the patch in the process. This will protect your patch and garment from any potential heat damage while pressing.
  3. Press: After laying the garment onto the heat press with the patch in place and a teflon sheet or parchment paper covering it, set the top platen heat to 280°F and the bottom platen heat to 320°F and press for 20 seconds with 70-80 PSI or hard pressure. After done pressing, remove the garment from the press and allow it to cool for at least 30 seconds before removing the thermal tape. This allows the melted glue to solidify, thereby bonding it to your garment.

Hats - Top Platen Heat Only

  1. Position Your Patch: Since your hat will be facing upwards when it’s getting pressed, place your patch onto the desired area on your hat and secure it by taping it to the hat with Thermal Tape (heat resistant tape).
  2. Load Hat Onto Hat Press: Now that the patch is taped onto the hat, it’s time to load your hat onto the press. With the brim of your hat pointing upwards, fit the hat around the lower platen, as if the lower platen is actually wearing the hat. Lay a teflon sheet over the patch. This will protect the patch from any potential heat damage while pressing.
  3. Press: Set the top platen heat of your press to 360°F. If your hat press allows you to manually enter pressure settings, we’ve found 60 PSI yields the best results. If you’re applying pressure manually by holding the upper platen down onto the hat, apply firm pressure. After entering the heat and pressure settings, lower the top platen to lock your hat into place and press for 20 seconds. Once the 20 seconds are up, lift the top platen and allow the hat to cool for another 30 seconds before removing from the press. This allows the melted glue to solidify, thereby bonding it to your hat.
