Pressing Instructions
To achieve a professional finish on your rhinestone transfer every time, adhere to these five straightforward steps.
- No Pre-Pressing Required: Skip the step of removing moisture; it's not necessary for rhinestone transfers. Pre-pressing is optional based on your preference.
- Position Your Design Carefully: Take the necessary time to accurately position your rhinestone transfer on the garment. The sticky backing of the transfer will secure it to your garment while pressing. For more accurate placement, consider using our Alignment Ruler Set.
- Pressing Instructions: Apply medium pressure at 315°F / 160°C for 15 seconds. Rhinestone transfers are resilient to variations in heat, pressure, or duration within reasonable limits. Yet, excessive heat may harm your fabric, so always perform a test press and use parchment paper or a protective guard sheet to shield your garment.
- Cooling and Peeling: Allow the transfer to cool to the touch after pressing (wait at least 15-30 seconds). To expedite cooling, our Cool Peel Air Blower will do the trick. Once cooled, begin to peel the transfer starting from a corner, gently pulling away. Remember, it's better to be careful than to rush – ensure every rhinestone adheres properly to your garment.
Art Upload Recommendations

Care Instructions
To ensure the longevity and maintain the sparkle of your rhinestone transfer garments, follow the care instructions below:
- Wash in Cold Water: Always use cold water for washing. Cold water is gentle on the fabric and the rhinestones, helping to preserve the adhesive and prevent any potential damage to the stones.
- Hand Washing Recommended: If possible, hand wash your garment gently to minimize the risk of rhinestones coming loose. If using a washing machine, opt for a gentle cycle and turn the garment inside out for added protection.
- Avoid Washing with Rough Items: Ensure that no rough or abrasive items are washed or dried with your rhinestone garment. These items can catch on or scratch the rhinestones, leading to damage.
- Do Not Soak Your Clothing: Soaking can weaken the adhesive under the rhinestones, causing them to detach. Wash the garment promptly without letting it sit in water.
- Hang to Dry: Always air dry your garment by hanging it. Avoid using tumble dryers as the heat and tumbling action can dislodge the rhinestones.
- Do Not Bleach: Bleach and other strong detergents can damage the fabric and discolor the rhinestones. Use a mild detergent that is safe for delicate fabrics.
- Do Not Dry Clean: Dry cleaning chemicals can harm the rhinestones and the adhesive that holds them in place.
- Do Not Use Fabric Softener: Fabric softeners can leave a residue that dulls the sparkle of the rhinestones and may affect the adhesive.
FAQ
A rhinestone is crafted from glass, designed to mimic the appearance of a diamond through precise cutting. Hot fix rhinestones are a specific type of rhinestone that feature flat backs coated with a heat-sensitive adhesive, enabling their attachment to fabric via heat pressing. A rhinestone transfer consists of multiple hot fix rhinestones organized into a specific pattern or design, ready for application onto fabric through heat pressing.
Rhinestone transfers are created by arranging hot fix rhinestones into specific designs or patterns on a heat-resistant transfer paper. The adhesive on the back of the rhinestones activates under heat, allowing the entire design to be transferred onto fabric through the application of heat and pressure. This process enables intricate designs to be applied to clothing, accessories, and other textile products efficiently and durably.
To apply rhinestone transfers, place the transfer onto the fabric in the desired location, cover it with a protective guard sheet, and then press down with a hot iron or heat press at 315°F for 15 seconds. After cooling, carefully peel off the transfer's backing to reveal the adhered rhinestones on the fabric.
